Luis de Leon is a writer, filmmaker, and visual artist.
He’s written several screenplays, pilots, short stories, and is finishing his debut novel.
In his documentary work, he’s gone from spending time with Thai dissidents in Cambodian safe houses to interviewing cyber criminals and FBI agents in Romania. He edited an award-winning documentary, One Minute To Nine, which screened at the prestigious Locarno Film Festival and SXSW, and later moved audiences on HBO. His short documentary, The Other Side of Hacking, explored Romanian cybersecurity and premiered at the 2017 Beverly Hills Film Festival.
Luis has an extensive background in post-production. He was a founding and active partner for 8 years at the boutique visual effects company The Molecule. He is a member of the Television Academy for his work as an on-set VFX supervisor on several films and television shows. He was Motion Design Director for Steelhead creating visuals for many brands including Volkswagen, Target, Snapple, Pandora, Sprint, and Taco Bell. As an art director, he directed a full CG world imagining the future of driverless cars for NatGeo's Years of Living Dangerously.
Luis is currently the Director of Content for the Wonderful Company working on brands including Wonderful Pistachios, FIJI Water, POM Pomegranate Juice, Teleflora, Halos Oranges, Justin Vineyards.
Lastly, Luis is an avid reader and traveler. He grew up splitting his time between the U.S. and Mexico and believes the best storytellers travel the path unknown.
